topic of winning Brockport essays Brockport seventh-graders Janis Massinger (left) and Kaitlyn Schicker hold the plaques and monetary awards they were presented by the Monroe County Volunteer Firemen's Association for the first-place essay they wrote together on fire prevention. Receiving a third-place award was fifth-grader Sebastian Zona from Brockport's Fred W. Hill School. This is the 35th year for the countywide essay contest.
