ALBION
Jaworski, John J., 82, February 4, 2002 following a short illness.
Born in Albion on April 29, 1919 to the late Michael (Cecelia Krysinski) Jaworski, Mr. Jaworski resided in Albion his entire life. He retired from New York Canal System in 1976 but still stayed active working as a self-employed welder.
Following his tour of duty during WWII, during which he served in the infantry in the European Theatre, he returned to Albion and joined the Sheret Post of the American Legion. He was also a member of Saint Mary's Church and the Saint Mary's Athletic Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret; and their daughters, Linda (David) Plummer of Spencerport and Susan (Jim) Maggio of Gowanda, NY. Also surviving are four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two sisters, Agatha Daniels of Albion and Frances Klinger of Florida; one brother, Leonard Jaworski of California and a brother-in-law Ray Boccaccio of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was said February 7 at St. Mary's Church, Holley. Interment Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Albion.
Marshall, Frances N., 92, February 3, 2002 at the Orleans County Nursing Home. Mrs. Marshall was born on September 17, 1909 in Albion to the late Albert (Minnie Grim) Sanford. She resided in Albion for her entire life, living on McKinstry Street for 60 years.
Mrs. Marshall retired from the Albion Central School where she worked as a cook in the cafeteria. When not cooking for the school children she devoted her time to raising her family and cooking and baking for them.
Mrs. Marshall was predeceased by her husband of over 40 years, Edward Marshall, Sr., in 1974. She is survived by her children, Edward (Kathryn) Marshall of Albion; Kathryn Moses of Spencerport; David (Elizabeth) Marshall of Hecheltown, NY; Kenneth (Carol) Marshall of Hilton and Gerald (Sherrie) Marshall of Medina. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion February 6. Interment Mount Albion Cemetery. Those wishing can make memorial remembrances to a charity of their choice in her memory
BROCKPORT
Burch, Harriet I. (Jenks), On January 29, 2002, age 72. Predeceased by her husband, George in 1988. Survived by her children, George (Margaret), Barbara (Jeff) Pratt, Robert, Edward (Kimberly), Clifford (Margie) and Albert (Beth); daughter-in-law, Yvonne; brother-in-law, Albert (Arline) Burch; 18 grandchildren; two great granddaughters; brothers and sisters, LaVerne Jenks of Michigan, Jeanice Passarell of Holley, Oliver Jenks of Holley, Donald Jenks of Albion; Shirley (Paul) Wilkins of Albion, John (Bonnie Lu) Jenks of Kendall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert Calkins of Murray, Beulah Jenks of Albion, Janet Jenks of Holley, Carol Jenks of Albion; nephew, Brad (Lisa) Smith; several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held February 2 at the Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery in the spring.
HAMLIN
Bailey, Evelyn M., on February 4, 2002, age 85, she died peacefully at Genesee Region Home Care Hospice of St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She is predeceased by her former husband and is survived by her four children, (the 4 J's); Jack (Karin) Bailey of Lyons, Judy (Scott) Hinrichs of Hamlin, Jim (Mary) Bailey of Appleton, Wisconsin and John Bailey of Rochester; a sister, Alberta Nickelson of Ft. Worth, Texas; brothers, Raymond (Janet) Bartholomew of Lansing, Michigan and Jim (Gloria) Bartholomew of LaPorte, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Erin and Sarah Hinrichs, Jason and Derek Bailey; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.
Evelyn was born February 15, 1916 in LaPorte, Indiana. She played piano and sang in various groups including Parsells Avenue Baptist Church Drama Club, Jacks and Jills, and the Choir of the former St. Mark's Lutheran Church (Brighton). She was a former resident of the Plymouth Gardens Apartments before moving to the Hamlin Terrace Apartments. She was a member of the Seniors Group at both the Hamlin Terrace Apartments and St. John's Lutheran Church.
A Service of Christian Burial celebrating her life was held February 8 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Private interment will be held at White Haven Memorial Park, Perinton. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, or GRHCA Hospice, 70 Metro Park, Rochester, New York 14623 in her memory.
HILTON
Carmestro, Pauline A., Peacefully on January 28, 2002 at age 74. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Carmey Carmestro, Sr. (1985), and son, Paul Carmestro (1996). She is survived by her sons, Carmey (Cathy) Carmestro Jr., and Chuck (Shari) Carmestro; her grandchildren, Joseph and Michael Lawson, Cassandra Carmestro and Cody, Leah, Joshua and Kaylee; her brothers, Andy (Pat) and Russ (Mary) Palumbo and sister, Betty (Tom) Hendry; also many nieces and nephews and close friends.
A Funeral Service celebrating her life was held at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Hilton February 2. Contributions can be sent to the Hilton Fire Department, P.O. Box 186, Hilton, NY 14468 in her memory.
KENDALL
Clow, Frank Wilson, 83, of Edenton, North Carolina, died January 29, 2002. He was a member of St. Luke Episcopal Church, a founding member of the Kendall Lions Club and was retired as principal of Kendall Central Schools with more than 30 years of service. Mr. Clow was treasurer of Kendall Fire Department, served on the town council in Kendall, and served on the governor's advisory council on aging. He has been a Mason in Social Lodge 713 for 50 years.
He was the son of the late Harold and Anna Clow and husband of the late Alida Mae Clumm Clow.
Surviving is his son, Robert "Bob" Clow and his wife, Patty, of Edenton; a sister, Phyllis Koether, and a brother Richard Clow.
A celebration of his life was held February 9 in Evans Funerals and Cremations Chapel.
KENT
Harris, Luella Arvilla (Wilson), 83, February 5, 2002. Mrs. Harris married her late husband, Melvin Wayne Harris on January 11, 1945. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Charles Wilson and Ellsworth Wilson; sisters, Ettibelle Baxter and Una Seifert. Survived by four sons, Neal of California, Wilson (Joyce) of Waterport, James (Lilia) of Florida, Robert (Melissa) of Colorado; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment Sandy Creek Cemetery at a future date. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Orleans County, 14080 West Avenue, Albion, NY 14411 in her memory.
