Hilton students selected for All-State, All-County honors

Hilton music students have distinguished themselves in several music festivals, concerts and competitions recently. N.Y.S. School Music Association Area All-State participants held at the Eastman Theatre last fall were Hilton High School and Merton Williams Middle School students: Michael Hughson, All-State Mixed Chorus; Sarah Mattison, All-State Women's Chorus; Zach Lemcke, All-State Symphonic Band; Ashley Sullivan, All-State Band; Jeremy Wilson, alt. All-State Band.

Selected at Solo Fest held last month at Gates-Chili High School for the All-County Senior High Festival held at Nazareth College were: Cynthia Burrows, Band; Jill Burrows, Orchestra; Patty Carpenter, Orchestra; Michelle LeRoy, Orchestra; Rachel Marianetti, Band; Alexandra Meyer, Band; Sara Richardson, Band; Jeremy Wilson. The All-County Senior Music Festival will be held at the Eastman Theatre in March.

Selected at the Junior High Solo Fest held at Brighton Middle School in January were: Sara Baglinoi, Orchestra; Christian Barrett, Band; Nick Finzer, Band; Aaron Furtner, Band; Katlyn Gorman, Band; Rachel Kodweis, Band; Kelsey Lunt, Band; Cody Niver, Band; Kelcey O'Sullivan, Band; Ashley Sullivan, Orchestra; Chrissy Voldan, Orchestra; Caitlin Wilson, Orchestra. The Junior High All-County Festival will be held March 8-9 at Brockport High School.

Hilton School District begins instrumental music in the fourth grade and offers a wide variety of concert bands, jazz bands, ensembles and choral groups through high school.
