eighth grader wins spelling bee
The 19th Annual Catholic Middle School Spelling Bee was held at All Saints Catholic Academy on January 30. Eighth graders Brendan Noll from All Saints and Nicholas Smith from St. Mary's Canandaigua were the final two contestants. Brendan correctly spelled the words "effluent" and "novice" to become the Champion.
The Spelling Bee was judged by Anne Frank, assistant superintendent: William Davis, All Saints principal; and Julie Gramza-Hultquist, All Saints teacher. Fourteen students from nine different Catholic Middle Schools participated in this annual event including students from Canandaigua and Seneca Falls.
