AREA

•Edmond, Jack L., N. Greece/Perkinsville: February 11, 2002 at age 51. Fondly known as "Poor Ol' Jack." Jack was born April 17, 1950. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary Edmond; sister, Sara Fawcett. Survived by his wife, Millie (Sahrle) Edmond; children, Jack (Gina) Edmond, Jr., Janice Edmond, Joseph Edmond; sisters, Barbara (Henry) Panus of Allegany, New York; Judy (Arthur) Page of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Kay (Norbert) Walsh of Seal Beach, California; Sue (William) Conway of Knoxville, Tennessee; Mary Jo (Wayne) O'Sullivan of Amherst, New York; Janice (Edward) Hohman of Las Vegas, Nevada; Teresa (Thomas) Coffey, of Campbell, California; Irene (Michael) Rosenberg of Baltimore, Maryland; brother, Robert (Marian) Edmond of Sherman, Connecticut; many nieces and nephews. Jack was founder and president of Green Acre Farm and Nursery since 1978.

A Funeral Mass was held February 15 at St. Mark's Church, Greece. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Perkinsville, New York, Contributions can be made to Sacred Heart Church of Perkinsville, Greece Little League or GRHC Hospice in his memory.


•Hoag, Frank B., 91, on February 19, 2002 at the Newfane Medical and Rehabilitation Center. His wife, Evelyn, predeceased him. Mr. Hoag is survived by a son, Maurice (Courtney) Hoag of North Carolina, and a daughter, Linda Mae King, of Lockport. Also surviving is a brother, Gillford Hoag of Newark.

A Funeral Service was held February 21 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion. Burial Mount Albion Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute in his memory.


•Holmes, Dorothy A., 65, on February 15, 2002 at the Hollywood Medical Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
A brother, Richard Furness, predeceased her. Mrs. Holmes is survived by her husband, Robert, and her children, Steven Davis of Kendall, Richard Davis of South Carolina, Gerald Davis of Rochester, Adelbert (Debra) Davis Jr. of Florida, Karen (Richard) Wright of Churchville, Janet (James) Howard of Brockport, Alan Davis of Kendall and Jeffrey (Kim) Davis of Holley. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, one brother, Thomas Furness of Brockport, and one nephew.

A Funeral Service was held February 19 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Kendall. Contributions can be made to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33486 or the American Cancer Society in her memory.


ALBION

•Gurzinski, Arthur, 77, went peacefully on February 10, 2002. Mr. Gurzinski was a veteran of WWII having served in the Navy. He was a member of the American Legion and Saint Mary's Athletic Club. He was a graduate of Albion High School class of 1941 and attended the University of Florida for three years. He retired from Sylvania in Brockport where he worked as a quality controller.

His wife Marion predeceased Mr. Gurzinski in 1994. He is survived by his mother-in-law Lottie Ciesielski of Albion; a sister-in-law Jean Ducharme of Albion; brother-in-law Francis (Connie) Ciesielski of Maryland; nephew Michael (Tracy) Ducharme of California.

Funeral Service were held February 15 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home. Interment at Mount Albion Cemetery. Memorials can be made to a charity of one's choice in his memory.


BROCKPORT

•Cliff, Helen M. (Jubenville), age 78, February 17, 2002. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Cliff, Sr.; Mother of Roy Cliff Jr. of Brockport, Donna (Frederick) Parker of Brockport, Sally (Kenneth) Swanger of Holley, Daniel Cliff of Pittsford, Michael (Shari) Cliff of Idaho, Sharon (Jeffrey) Reynolds of Brockport, grandmother of 16 grandchildren; great-grandmother of 20. Sister of Marge (Harold) Leverenz of Arizona, Rosemary (Edward) Seaman of Brockport, Madeline (Kenneth) McCullough of Hamlin, Richard (Jean) Jubenville of Bergen, Donald (Betty) Jubenville of Hamlin; daughter-in-law, Betty Cliff of Brockport; brother-in-law, Bernard Cliff of Brockport, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said February 20 at Church of Nativity of the BVM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, Tennessee, 38173-0704 in her memory.


HAMLIN

•Campling, Ernest W. (Fahy) (Kerxhalli), on February 13, 2002 at age 86. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marguerite; his children, Gary Campling, Carol (Michael) Fahy, Bill (Ginny) Campling and Sharon (Chris) Kerxhalli; his grandchildren, Tracy (Kenneth) Merkel, Kelly Wilkins, Alan (Kimberly) Wilkins, Michelle (Chris) Godfrey, Bill Campling, Michael, Brian, and Adam Kerxhalli, his great-grandchild, Jake Alan Wilkins; and many relatives and close friends.

A Memorial Service celebrating his life was held February 16 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., Hilton. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice or the Al Sigl Center, 1000 Elmwood Avenue, Suite 300, Rochester, NY 14620 in his memory.


HOLLEY

•Broekhuizen, Lester W., age 86, February 16 at Lakeside Memorial Hospital. He was born July 27, 1915 in Williamson, New York; the son of William and Elizabeth (Augustine) Broekhuizen. Lester lived in Holley most of his life and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holley and a former Sunday school teacher.

He was a life member of the F& AM, past president and member of the Holley Board of Education, and a long time member of the Rochester Credit Men's Association. Lester was a graduate of Holley High School, Geneseo Normal School and Clarkson College. He was a 43 year employee of Bausch & Lomb in Rochester, retiring in 1980.

Lester received great enjoyment from his family, golfing, gardening, and was an avid reader.

He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Jane, in 1994. He is survived by three sons, Karl Broekhuizen of Saratoga Springs, Robert (Irene) Broekhuizen of Midland, Michigan, Bradley (Janice) Broekhuizen of Holley; daughter, Sharon Schiffhauer of Holley; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Theodore (Rhoda) Broekhuizen of Holley; one niece and one nephew.

A Funeral Service was held February 21 at the First Presbyterian Church, Holley. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Holley, 34 E. Albion Street, Holley, NY 14470 or Lakeside Memorial Hospital, 156 West Avenue, Brockport, New York 14420 in his memory.


•Stymus Helen J., 80, February 11, 2002 at the Medina Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Unit. Born in Brockport, she resided in the area her entire life.

A son, Gary, predeceased Mrs. Stymus in 1966. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Graydon Stymus, and their children, Duane (Julie) Stymus of Holley, Marilee (Fred) Press of Hamburg, Patricia (Arnold) Nichols of Florida, Kathy (James) Cronin of Rochester, Leslie (Dennis) Piedmonte of Holley, James (Patricia) Stymus of Holley and Carol Webster of Brockport; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held February 14 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Holley. Contributions can be made to the Medina Memorial Hospital Rehab Unit in her memory.


NORTH CHILI

•Sams, Catherine E. (Dolly), on February 13, 2002, age 85. Predeceased by her husbands, Jay Sams and Jack W. Sams. Survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Don) Blackburn; grandson Jeremy (Danielle) Blackburn; granddaughter Angela (Angel Diaz Jr.); great-grandchildren, Alex and MacKenzie; a nephew, nieces and cousins. She was member of Pearce Memorial Church and a graduate of Nazareth Academy of Nursing.

A Funeral Service was held February 16 at the Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Spring in-terment, North Chili Cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.
