Blue Devils advance to semi's

Colby Jones and Brandon Dries scored first period goals and that would be all the Brockport Blue Devils would need in a 4-1 victory over Webster in Sectional Hockey playoff action February 16.

After dodging Webster's sustained pressure in the opening five minutes of the game, Jones scored an unassisted goal with just over five minutes remaining in the first period. Dries followed with his goal three minutes later with assists from Casey Balog and Craig Willis.

Webster got their only tally of the game in the second period, but the Blue Devils countered with goals from Rich Napierala and Dan Holding before the period was over. A scoreless third period followed and Brockport advanced to the semi-finals against fourth-seeded Fairport.

Goaltender Nick Unger stopped 20 Warrior shots for the win. Brockport is ranked second in New York state behind undefeated Baldwinsville who is 17-0-2 this season.
