Cummings scores 26 points in loss
Byron-Bergen's Ryan Cummings led all scorers with 26 points, but it wasn't enough as Holley defeated the Bees 56-52 in the final regular season boy's basketball game for both schools.
The Hawks led after the first quarter in spite of giving up the final eight points to the Bees and then opened up a 12-point half-time advantage. Byron-Bergen had a two point lead with under two minutes left in the third quarter, but it was all Hawks from that point as they scored seven of the final nine points in the third quarter and led by as many as eight points in the final stanza.
Three players scored in the double figures for the Hawks led by Justin Penna's 15 points. Mark Trupo scored 14 points and Travis Mitchell added 13. For the Bees, Justin Pretko scored seven points and Mike Glazier chipped in six.
