Fifth annual FAST set

Brockport Ecumenical Outreach Committee (BEOC) is sponsoring its fifth NY State Labor-Religion Coalition 40-hour FAST event on Tuesday, March 5 at the First Presbyterian Church, 35 State Street, Brockport. The pre-FAST covered dish meal at 6 p.m. will be followed by a 7 p.m. service.

Participants will fast for families and workers suffering because of September 11, for those workers excluded from overtime pay or a day of rest, and those impoverished by the outdated minimum wage. A soup and bread luncheon, to celebrate the end of the FAST, is offered at noon on Thursday, March 7, at Newman Center, 101 Kenyon Street. All are invited to attend the events.
