Petitions available for
Spencerport Board of Education seats
Candidates wishing to run for the Spencerport Central School Board of Education must submit petitions to the district clerk on or before Friday, April 19 at 4 p.m.
Petitions must contain the signatures of at least 48 qualified voters of the school district. A qualified voter is any person who is a citizen of the United States, is at least 18 years old and is a resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the date of the election.
The terms of board members David Dorofy, John Goehle and Laura McFarlane expire on June 30. Petitions may be obtained in the district clerk's office, 71 Lyell Avenue, during regular business hours.
The Monroe County School Boards Association's seminar for those interested in running for a school board seat, will be Saturday, March 23, 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Airport. The registration deadline is March 21. Contact the Monroe County School Boards Association at 328-1972 for information.
Community residents can learn more about the school board candidates at the Spencerport Budget Hearing and Information Meeting on Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. in the board room at the Administration Building, 71 Lyell Avenue. Residents will vote on the board candidates and the school budget on Tuesday, May 21.
