Hilton resident Alison Welch has been named to the dean's list for 2001 fall semester at the University of Buffalo, School of Management.

Welch, a business management major, is the daughter of Ted and Nancy Welch of Hilton and a 1999 graduate of Hilton High School.


Stephen P. Scuteri was named to the Monroe Community College dean's list for the fall 2001 term with an academic GPA of 3.963 out of a possible 4.0. Stephen has also received a chancellor's scholarship to Syracuse University to continue his education in the fall.

He is the son of Ronald Scuteri of Churchville and Deborah Corrigan of Chili.


Jeffrey C. Povelaites, of Rochester, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2001 semester at Alfred University. He is a sophomore in the NYS College of Ceramics.

Povelaites is a ceramic engineering major at Alfred University.

A graduate of Aquinas Institute, Rochester, Povelaites is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Povelaites of Rochester.


David Donald Kent, of Spencerport, was named to the dean's commendation list at Gettysburg College. Students with a quality point average of 3.33 or higher for a semester's work are placed on the dean's commendation list.


Jonathon Kruger of Hilton, is participating in the Valparaiso University College of Engineering Cooperative Education Program for the spring 2002 semester.

Kruger, a senior at VU, is majoring in civil engineering in the College of Engineering. He is a graduate of Hilton Central High School and is the son of Richard and Dona Kruger of Hilton.


Denise Viney, of Hamlin, has been chosen for the Employee of the Month Award at Lakeside Health System. Viney, who has been a Central Registration Representative for one-and-one-half years, was nominated for her outstanding customer relations skills and ability to deal with difficult situations.

Viney received gifts of appreciation.


The following students were named to the dean's list at Niagara University for the fall 2001 semester: Ryanne Fullerton, Spencerport; Mary Ellen Uschold, Spencerport; Joseph Nyiri, Spencerport; Kayce Kehoe, Spencerport.


The following student enrolled in Syracuse University's School of Education were named to the dean's list for the 2001 fall semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

•Sara Brugnoni, Ashwood Circle, Rochester, a junior majoring in inclusive elementary and special education.


The following students enrolled in Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications were named to the dean's list for the 2001 fall semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and earn at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

Rebecca Donsky of Rochester, daughter of Dr. Howard Donsky and Paula Donsky, was named to the dean's list of Emory College, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia for the 2001 fall semester.

Students must be in the top 20 percent of Emory College or have approximately a 3.788 GPA or higher to be named to the dean's list.


Melissa B. Fortunato of Rochester has been named to the fall 2001 dean's list at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Fortunato is a pharmacy student.

Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a C and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the fall semester of 2001.


Erin T. Kimmel is a December 2001 graduate of SUNY Brockport. She graduated cum laude (3.27 GPA) with a major in physical education. Erin was a member of the Golden Eagles Women's Volleyball team and she was inducted into Phi Epsilon Kappa, the physical education honor fraternity.

She is currently employed by Brockport Central Schools as a Physical Education teacher and JV girls Volleyball coach. She is a 1998 graduate of Brockport High School and the daughter of Tom and Ellen Kimmel of Brockport


The following student was named to the dean's list of St. Bonaventure University for the fall 2001 semester. A student must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.25 in order to qualify. Shannon J. Luce, a senior at St. Bonaventure, has been named to the dean's list. She is majoring in education. Luce is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Luce, Jr. of Brockport.

Janet Campbell, Broker Associate of Nothnagle Realtors Spencerport Office, completed an outstanding 2001 with sales volume of $5,500,000.

Recognized by the Nothnagle organization as one of their Multi-Million Dollar Top Producers, Campbell has also been awarded the Sales Master Gold Award by her peers in the Greater Rochester Association. This award is achieved based on 60 closed transactions or $6 million in closed sales in a 12 month period and by the Woman's Council of Realtors, Breakfast of Champions with the Zenith Award.

Her dedication to her clients and her knowledge of new construction, representing ENF Builders, Ed and Mike Fuierer, and her 15 years of service certificate from the GRAR makes her the great realtor that she is, says manager Joyce Lobene.


Nothnagle Spencerport Office Manager Joyce Lobene was recently recognized for $8 million in production for the year 2001. She also accepted on behalf of the Spencerport Office a certificate for a 25 percent increase in business at the Nothnagle Realtors annual awards luncheon in January. Joyce Lobene received the Sales Master Platinum Award for the 2000/2001 year from the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors. With a career that spans nearly 25 years, Lobene has been among the Top 25 in the company as well as a consistent Multi-Million Dollar Producer. Joyce's credits in 2001 include her dedication to the Ogden Center Development subdivision known as Hickory Hollow, patio homes for adults 55+, where she has sold more than 40 homes this past year.

She is a GRI graduate of the Realtor Institute and CRB Certified Residential Broker.


Mary Lobene, Sales Associate with Nothnagle Realtors Spencerport Office, was recently honored at a company luncheon for her exceptional efforts in real estate. Mary was named #4 in the company's Top 25 Club and the Top West Side Agent with sales well over $11 million for 2001.

Mary Lobene was also awarded the Sales Masters Platinum Award for 2000/2001, by The Greater Rochester Association of Realtors. Agents received this award based on either 100 or more closed transactions or $10 million in closed sales for a 12 month period. Mary achieved both.

Lobene has received numerous other awards and achievements including the "Pinnacle Award" given by the Women's Council of Realtors and is the number one agent in the Spencerport Office achieving Top Sales Person for January through September and again in November and December 2001.

Mary is in her 19th year in Real Estate Sales, always a full-time Realtor Associate, specializing in residential and new home sales. She resides in Ogden/Spencerport with her husband, Raymond Bilinski, and their sons Beau and Jared.


Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Frank J. Beardslee, son of Cheryl Beardslee of Brockport and Efraine Ortiz of Reading, Pennsylvania, recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Headquarters, Marine Aircraft Group 31, Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, South Carolina.

Beardslee was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty.

He is a 1997 graduate of Ava High School of Ava, Missouri and joined the Marine Corps in December 1999.


Air Force Airman Shaun R. Tebo has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Tebo is the son of Donna L. Tebo, Rochester, and Earl C. Tebo of Spencerport.

He is a 2001 graduate of Spencerport High School.


Navy Airman Richard D. Tyson has graduated from naval basic training at Great Lakes Naval Base, Great Lakes, Illinois. He is presently stationed at the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Pensacola, Florida.

Tyson is the son of Donald Tyson of Gates and Connie Tyson of Spencerport. He is a life long resident of Chili and attended Gates Chili Schools.
