GCC offers grant writing workshops
Genesee Community College will offer Introduction to Grant Writing, a day-long workshop on the art and technique of grant funding, and Grant Writing Clinic, a follow-up course that will assist in refining and improving writing, formatting, and research techniques. Introduction to Grant Writing will be held Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Wyoming Campus Center at Warsaw. Grant Writing Clinic will be held at one time only; Saturday, April 20, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Batavia Campus.
These workshops are appropriate for staff and volunteer leaders of not-for-profit and public organizations. Participants will learn how to identify funding prospects, "package" a grant request, contact prospective funders, and write the actual proposal. Participants will have the opportunity to read excerpts from successful grant proposals. Those attending the second Grant Writing Clinic are asked to bring a copy of a single corporate or foundation proposal they have written which is either pending or has not been selected for funding.
Call the Batavia Campus at 345-6999, or the Wyoming Campus Center at Warsaw at 786-3010 for information.
