Athenaeum presents spring Issues and Ideas series

The Athenaeum, an innovative, continued-learning organization for adults age 50-and-over at Rochester Institute of Technology, presents its spring Issues and Ideas speaker series, 2-3:30 p.m., April 2 and 4, and a weeklong open house April 8-11.

Topics include: Seneca Park Zoo - Past, Present, Future, will explore why zoos exist and how they affect conservation efforts in the wild; A Taste of Spring Offerings - Tudor England - 1485-1603 will examine how the Tudor family emerged from the sidelines to become one of the most powerful dynasties to rule England; The Oscars will use recent Oscar results as a stepping-off point to discuss the state of movies today; A Taste of Spring Offerings - Globalization: Blessing or Curse will explore the myths and realities of globalizaiton and its effects - to us personally, to the nation, and to the people beyond our borders.

The Athenaeum also offers a weeklong open house Monday, April 8 - Thursday, April 11. More than 30 Athenaeum classes offered this quarter will be open to the public to sit-in and sample.
