Hilton revises board candidate petition deadline
Three positions on the seven-member Hilton School District Board of Education are open at this year's budget vote and board election scheduled for May 21. There are two, three-year positions (Chris Cosgrove and Ted Welch); and one, two-year position to fulfill the remainder of James Giordano's term (now filled by a one-year appointment of Agnes Seneway). The positions will be filled in the order of the greatest number of votes cast with the two-year position taking office May 22. The three-year members take the oath of office at the annual Reorganization Meeting July 2, 2002.
Prospective candidates must complete a nominating petition available at the District Clerk's office at 225 West Avenue, Hilton. Candidates must be a qualified voter of the district and a district resident for at least one year prior to the election. Each petition must contain at least 34 signatures of qualified, registered voters of the district and are due at the District Clerk's office by April 22, 2002. (NOTE: This is a change in petition deadline.)
