Gates Chili Council's
community awards celebration April 25
For the 17th year, the Gates Chili Council of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce will honor local organizations and individuals that have significantly impacted the quality of life in the Gates Chili area.
The award ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 25 at the Beahan Road Party House. Terry Slaybaugh, director of the Greater Rochester International Airport, will be the guest speaker.
The following awards will be presented:
- Gates Beautification Award - Perkins Restaurant and Bakery.
- Chili Beautification Award - CVS Pharmacy.
The Beautification Award is given for new construction or restoration of existing facilities to enhance the area.
- Innovative Business Award - Lifetime Assistance, Inc.
Designed for a business that stimulates economic growth and commerce, with regard to product demand and originality of the enterprise.
- The Joseph Entress Memorial Award - Wal-Mart.
Recognizes on-going improvement and beautification to encourage continued development.
- Culture and Arts Award - Roberts Wesleyan College.
Recognized as an organization whose talents and/or patronage has strengthened the understanding, appreciation and support of arts and culture as an integral part of community life.
- 2002 Citizen of the Year Award - Andy Gallina, of Gallina Development Corp.
Recognized for his contribution to the betterment of the community.
The Gates Chili Fire Department will be recognized for 75 years of service to the Gates and Chili communities.
