Hunter Safety course scheduled
Mandatory course for first-time hunters available to local residents
Instructors certified by the Department of Environmental Conservation will conduct a Hunter Safety Program April 15, 17 and 20 at Northstar Sportsman's Club. Those interested in attending may register in person at the Clerk's Office, Town of Parma located at 1300 Hilton Parma Corners Road, Hilton, NY from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The free course is required for first-time hunters who wish to obtain a hunting license. Safe firearms handling combined with responsible, ethical hunter conduct and prudent hunting skills will be covered. Pre-course work is required and space is limited, therefore, it is recommended to register early.
Students must be a resident of NYS and be 12 or older as of April 15. A parent or legal guardian must accompany and register students 16 years of age and younger. Registration is handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
