Excellence in Learning Award presented
Hilton's Quest Elementary School fifth grade student, Kayla Bonanza, was the March 2002 recipient of the Superintendent's Excellence in Student Learning Award. Nominated by her teacher David Budgar, right, for her positive and enthusiastic learning spirit, Kayla "approaches everyday as an adventure, arriving at school with a smile on her face and questions in her mind ... Kayla's enthusiasm for both school and life is an invaluable asset to our learning community," he said. Superintendent John Cooper, left, presented Kayla with a certificate and a $50 U.S. Savings Bond sponsored by the Hilton Apple Fest Committee, Joseph Lee, center, chairperson. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bonanza. The Excellence in Student Learning Award is presented to a Hilton K-12 student five times a year.
