Greece in miniature

Fourth-graders Anthony Frasino (left) and Daniel Finley, who are in Don McIntyre's class at Gates Chili's Washington Irving Elementary School, work on their diorama that illustrates daily life in ancient Greece. The project was part of GreeceQuest, a journey of learning and discovery into the rich history and culture of ancient and modern Greece that is facilitated by an educational Web site and sponsored locally by Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES. As part of the program, students also enjoyed a "cultural experience" at BOCES, which included authentic Greek food, music and slides of modern day Greece.
