Brockport teams earn scholar athlete awards

The Brockport Girls Indoor Track, Volleyball and the Boys Varsity Basketball, Indoor Track and Ice Hockey varsity teams received the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Scholar/Athlete Team Award for the Winter 2001-02 season.

The award is given to high school varsity athletic teams who have maintained an average of 90 or above throughout their athletic season.

The following Brockport students received NYSPHSAA certificates and a pin:

• Girls Indoor Track: Allyson Barnhart, Laura Crandell, Liz Daniels, Katie Dumas, Angela Petronio, Heather Robertson, Mary Stoughton, Renee Vanhooft, Irene Vickner, Diana Webster, Kathy Wegman, and Katie Wieczorek.
• Girls Volleyball: Courtney Averill, Kim Demmans, Jamie Hugelmaier, Danielle LeBeau, Ginny Mangan, Dina Masiello, Kristi Rath, and Jill Smith.
• Boys Basketball: Mike Bartnick, Jerry Cheeves, Brad Mutton, Tyler Mutton, Michael O'Laughlin, Phil St. Amant, and Tim Skillings.
• Boys Indoor Track: Pat Boerner, Mike Dumas, Ian Eller, Jacob Hamlin, Matt Huber, Tom Johnson, Nick Kulp, Dan Ludington, Troy Pinkins, David Saeva, Jimmy Sorel, and Adam Streb.
• Boys Ice Hockey: Casey Balog, Kyle Filipowicz, Kyle Foelsch, Jason Hage, Pat McCarthy, Jarod Miner, Matt Popen, Craig Willis, and Pat Young.
