Ranger teams volunteer for community projects

Each of the winter athletic teams at Spencerport Central Schools participated in the "Spencerport Student-Athletes Care" community service project during the 2001-02 school year.

This winter, the Rangers varsity athletic teams have performed a variety of projects:

• Boys Basketball - Sponsored Coaches vs Cancer Xmas Tournament and Pancake Breakfast (donated $11,300 to American Cancer Society);
• Wrestling - Assisted SSBC with Toy Show/Auction on April 6;
• Girls Basketball - Donation to Ronald McDonald House of $100;
• Winter Cheerleading - Collected Toys for Tots in December and delivered to Toys R US;
• Hockey - Distributed Strong Children's Hospital "Frisbees" at Rochester Americans Hockey Game;
• Indoor Track - Assisted with SCS elementary school PE "Turkey Trot" run and "Christmas on the Canal" with the Rotary Club;
• Boys Swimming - Collected clothes and donated to Open Door Mission;
• Girls Volleyball - Donated $100 to Toys for Tots and wrapped Christmas presents.
