Singles sweep leads cadets
Hilton won all four singles matches and two-of-three doubles to defeat Greece Olympia in boy's tennis 6-1 on a sunny April 11 on their home court.
Steve Ventura (6-0, 6-1), Craig Rapp (6-2, 6-2) and Tim Bartl (6-1, 6-1) all swept their singles matches while senior Phil Spinelli scored the best comeback of the day at second singles. After losing the first set 6-7, he battled back from a 3-5 and two match point deficit in the second set to win 7-5 before putting his match away with a 6-3 win in the final set.
In doubles, seniors Andy Moon and Mike Zai were victorious 6-3, 6-4 winning the match clinching game on a serve break. At third doubles, Dan Horowitz and Steve Schiefer lost the first set 5-7 before recovering for 7-5 and 6-1 wins in their match.
