Hamlin churches mark National Day of Prayer

The Hamlin Association of Ministers (HAM) plans an observance of the National Day of Prayer on May 2 at the flagpole at the Hamlin Town Hall at 6 p.m.

The group has a tradition of marking the observance with a service, according to John Ebel, pastor at Hamlin New Testament Church and chairperson of the Hamlin Association of Ministers.

This year's theme is "America United Under God." President George W. Bush and all 50 governors officially proclaim and recognize the observance and local officials join them in calling the nation to come together in prayer.
