A bicycle is a terrible thing to waste
The Genesee Valley Bicycle Dealers Association (GVBDA) and The Salvation Army have teamed up to bring Rochester a bicycle-recycling program. The ReCycle Cycle Program is designed to collect and supply reliable transportation for disadvantaged adults and children within the greater Rochester area.
Anyone can support the "ReCycle Cycle" program by donating working condition bicycles to any of the GVBDA locations listed. Once a bicycle is received, the bicycle dealer will proceed with minor repairs and tune-ups to ensure that the bike is completely safe for the recipient. After the bike is inspected, it will be transferred to The Salvation Army, which will distribute the bicycle to a disadvantaged adult or child in need.
With every bicycle, a receipt from The Salvation Army will be given to document the charitable donation.
