RWCCO hosts auction and dinner

On Saturday, May 18, the Roberts Wesleyan College-Community Orchestra will again sponsor one of its popular activities - the annual auction and lasagna dinner. Glenn Lawrence, from Harris Wilcox Auctioneers, will be taking bids on art works, crafts, antiques, business merchandise, gift certificates and white elephant items. He will raise his gavel at 6:30 p.m.

Prior to the auction, a lasagna dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. in the Garlock Dining Commons on the campus. Members of the orchestra will provide dinner music. The auction will follow at the same location.

For Nyela Basney, who has been the music director of the RWCCO for the past sixteen years, this will be her farewell event. She will be continuing her skills conducting the Dallas Opera Symphony in Texas.

Ticket price for the evening is $10 and can be purchased at the Roberts Box Office or from any RWCCO board member. Box office (594-6008) hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. For information, call 594-2277.
