Cub Scout Pack 165 awards it scouts
On Sunday, April 21, 12 second year Webelos Scouts from Pack 165, St. John the Evangelist, Spencerport, were awarded the Arrow of Light, the highest rank in Cub Scouting. Later in the evening, 10 of these scouts crossed-over in Boy Scouting, moving on into three different Boy Scout Troops.
Receiving the Arrow of Light and joining Boy Scouts were the following: Edward Montalbano, Troop 125, chartered by St. Leo's Church of Hilton; Michael Costa and Nicholas Lemcke, Troop 84, chartered by the American Legion Post of Spencerport; Andrew Brower, Marc Childs, Lucas Hale, Eric Knauf, Christian Plucknette, Michael Scorse and Joey Stam, Troop 165, chartered by St. John's Church in Spencerport. Scouts Stephen Coia and Patrick Kingsley received the Arrow of Light but at this time have chosen not to advance to Boy Scouting. These awards were awarded at the Pack's monthly meeting at St. John's School gym.
Also presented at the pack meeting was the Community Service Patch. This patch was given to 33 scouts who took part in at least five of eight different community service projects throughout the scouting year. The projects ranged from spring and fall clean-up of the church grounds, planting 350 trees at Parma Town Park, food, toy and book drives, and taking part in the Scouting for Food drive in March. In all, Pack 165's Scouts donated an estimated 530 hours of service this year. The following scouts received the Service Project Patch: Brian Barron, Michael Barron, Zacharie Bernier, Tyler Broderick, Douglas Bruehl, Joseph Buchel, Jesse Buell, Dylan Campany, Daniel Carr, Daniel Costa, Michael Costa, Nick Coykendall, Nathan Fien, Ryan Gorman, Lucas Hale, Joe Inzanna, Adam Knauf, Eric Knauf, Mathew Kostyshak, Chandler Luhowskyj, Jeffery Morgan, Zachary Morgan, Douglas Nichols, Tyler Nichols, Christian Plucknette, Daniel Pulhamus, Eric Rottner, Jason Ross, Joey Stam, Colton Surdyk and Jeremy Ville.
