Students of the Month at Holley Schools recognized

Holley Middle School and High School has launched its character education program, which is now mandated in New York state. A Student of the Month program is just one way character education is being introduced at the secondary level in Holley. Teachers have the option of nominating a student for the award, whether it be for academics, hard work, a good deed - anything that deserves recognition. "The nice thing about this award is that it recognizes much more than high academics. Therefore, any student has a chance to earn it," said Sue Menga, guidance counselor.

The first Students of the Month were recently announced. They received certificates and congratulatory letters were sent home. A bulletin board is also being created in the library where award winners and a photo will be displayed each month.
