Young Democrats elect officers
The Monroe County Young Democrats recently held new officer elections.
The new president of the group is Saul Maneiro who has been a member of the organization for the past six years and currently is a legislative aide to New York State Senator Rick Dollinger. He brings to the presidency a wide area of expertise from his work at Puerto Rican Youth Development. Maneiro volunteers as a Rochester Hispanic Youth Baseball League Coach.
Larry Knox has been elected the vice president after serving as the Monroe County Young Democrats President for the past five years. He helped to establish the Young Democrat organization the community knows today. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the position of vice president through his two years of service to Monroe County Democratic Committee. Knox is the operations manager for Brighton Town Supervisor Sandra Frankel, who is seeking the Lt. Governor seat in the upcoming election.
Dennis O'Brien, who is a legislative aide to Assemblyman David Koon, will serve as the treasurer. He is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo and began his career at the Monroe County Board of Elections.
Courtney Fay, who also began her career at the Board of Elections, will continue in her role as secretary. She is currently the Director of Operations at the Monroe County Democratic Committee and is treasurer of her LD Committee. Fay volunteers her time with Compeer.
Filling the role of Public Relations Director is Lisa LaTrovato who is a community outreach liaison for Congresswoman Louise Slaughter. She is also the Assistant Town Leader of the Chili Democratic Committee and volunteers her time as an assistant coach for the Rochester Hispanic Youth Baseball League.
The new group of elected leaders looks forward to energizing young voters, educating and involving them in the Democratic Party in Monroe County.
