Youth apprentices present their senior projects

Students completing the Youth Apprenticeship program at WE-MO-CO Career and Technical Education Center this year presented their senior projects at Eastman Kodak Company on April 25. Student presentations demonstrated the student's ability to research and solve complex work-based problems using applied learning competencies: communication, analysis problem solving, teamwork, organization and customer focus, commitment to excellence, adaptability and learning, and personal attributes. Jack Doyle, Monroe County Executive, delivered the keynote address and recognized the students' success in the demanding Youth Apprenticeship Program.

The two-year Youth Apprenticeship Program sponsored by the Rochester Business Education Alliance allows students to earn a wage and up to eight high school credits while learning new skills through structured on-the-job and classroom training. These students worked at least 1,200 hours at their sponsoring company.

Participating companies include Eastman Kodak Company, HSBC Bank USA, Lexington Machining, and Sydor Optical.
