RIT/Bob McVean to host basketball camp
Rochester Institute of Technology men's basketball coach Bob McVean will be hosting the 24th annual Bob McVean Basketball Camp this summer. McVean offers a resident boys' camp and a shooting day camp.
The resident boys camp is open to individuals in grades 7-12 and runs Wednesday, July 24-Sunday, July 28.
The five-day camp includes lodging, all-you-can-eat meals, use of an Olympic-size swimming pool, and certified athletic trainers on site. Campers can sign up as a team (varsity, junior varsity, and junior high divisions), or on an individual basis. The camp will emphasize fundamentals, individual skill development, competitive game situations and personal evaluations. McVean heads up the coaching staff which includes 27 Rochester area varsity high school coaches.
The shooting camp is Monday, June 24-Friday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The camp is open to boys grade 4-9 with group rates available.
Both camps include a free basketball and t-shirt for each camper, plus awards for playoff champions, and skills test winners.
Also offered is a Varsity Tournament Weekend. The tournament (July 12-14) offers the opportunity for players and coaches to benefit from a concentrated tournament setting.
