Saints tracksters top three events
Kim Hill won the girls Pentathlon, Meghan Rowcliffe won the girls 3,000 meter and Matt St. James was tops in the boys 1,600 meter for Churchville-Chili at the Rush-Henrietta Invitational May 11.
Hill won the Pentathlon with a score of 2,242 - her best this season by 300 points. The event includes the 100-meter high hurdles, shot put, long jump, high jump and an 800-meter run. She scored a personal best in four of the five categories during the afternoon. She is ranked fourth in Section Five for this event.
Rowcliffe finished the 3,000 meter run in 10:33.98, her best time this season. The sophomore is ranked third in the section for this event. St. James was the only winner among the boys, taking the 1,600-meter run in 4:32.84.
Other top finishers for the Saints girls team included freshmen Jessie Pegler and senior Maggie Goodwin, who tied for third in the high jump clearing 4 10". Freshman Laura Bojko took fourth in the 400-meter dash in 62.04 and is now ranked 7th in the section for the event. Fellow Freshman Lauren Burkowski was fifth in the 200-meter dash in 27.12 - good for 13th in Section Five.
Sophomore Kelly St. James finished fourth in the 1,500 meter in 5:26.60 while Kathryn Knowles was fourth in the triple jump landing 31 10".
