Marching Band marches in Memorial Day Parade

The 90-member Hilton Crimson Cadet Marching Band, winner of the Educational Programs Network "Music in the Parks" Band Festival held in Sandusky, Ohio May 18, will march in the Hilton Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 27, beginning at 10 a.m. The band is directed by music teacher Tim Stodd and drum majors are Sarah Mattison and Danielle Wellington.

The band received a perfect cumulative score of "100" in all categories including Best Music, Best Auxiliary and Best Drum Majors, according to Mr. Stodd. More than 25 marching bands from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois and New York competed in the Festival.

The Hilton Memorial Day Parade begins at Hilton High School, 400 East Avenue, Hilton, and proceeds down East Avenue to the Veteran's Memorial located on Henry Street at the Hilton Community Center Gazebo. The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars are parade coordinators.
