Healthy Woman Partnership Funding secured
Funding for Healthy Woman Partnerships serving communities throughout Western New York has been made available through efforts by Assembly Republican Leader Charles H. Nesbitt (R,C-Albion).
Nesbitt said New York provides funding to Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Programs in every county to promote the early detection of these types of cancers.
Healthy Woman Partnerships were initially established to increase access to regular breast and cervical cancer screenings for uninsured and under-served women across New York state. The program provides screenings for nearly 60,000 women on an annual basis.
The funding awards for Healthy Woman Partnerships providers serving communities across Western New York:
Orleans County
Department of Health: $32,301 for breast and cervical cancer; $27,092 for colorectal and prostate cancer;
United Memorial
Medical Center: $122,634 for breast and cervical cancer; and (Genesee County) $ 47,950 for colorectal and prostate cancer.
