Brockport Rotary gives surprise donation to Lakeside Foundation

Lakeside Hospital Foundation Director Jean Hawkes (l), Donor Relations Director Cora Maskell (c) and Rotary President Elect Norm Knight (r) celebrate Rotary's surprise donation of $3,000 to the Lakeside Hospital Foundation campaign. The two Lakeside Foundation leaders were Rotary guest speakers who came to update the club on the new BISCO-Lakeside collaboration regarding the annual "Duck Derby." At the end of the talk, the Lakeside staff were delighted to receive Rotary's $3,000 pledge. The Brockport Rotary Club is a founder and an organizational member of the Brockport Integrated Service and Community Organization (BISCO). The latter uses the annual August Summer Arts Festival with its Sunday Duck Derby as the not-for-profit's main fundraiser. When Lifetime Assistance Foundation chose to bow out of its Duck Derby partnership with BISCO, Lakeside Foundation with its energetic and knowledgeable staff bought into the venture. With their considerable fundraising expertise, the Foundation has been responsible for upgrading the prize structure and gaining many sponsorships.
