Superintendents recognize outstanding seniors
Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES District Superintendent C. Tod Eagle recognized Matthew Hughson as an "Outstanding Senior." Matthew, a Holley student who attends the BOCES 2 Career and Technical Education Center, was among seniors from every high school in Monroe County and the City of Rochester that were honored in a ceremony at Cooper Hall at SUNY Brockport on May 23.
The Outstanding Senior Recognition Dinner, sponsored by the Monroe County Council of School Superintendents (MCCOSS), is the only program which recognizes excellence in all our county and city high schools at one event.
Students are selected for this honor based on their scholarship, leadership, service and character. The winners received a plaque and gift presentation by Howard Maffucci, East Rochester School Superintendent and current MCCOSS president, and their own district superintendent. Kate Bennett, president of Rochester Museum and Science Center, was the guest speaker.
Other area seniors recognized include: Michael Dumas (Brockport H.S.); Jordan Hawthorne (Churchville-Chili); Brian Ha (Gates Chili); Michelle C. Jansen (Greece Arcadia); Kristen Maria Pasquarella (Greece Athena); Tucker Robinson (Greece Odyssey); Amanda McCain (Greece Olympia); John P. Ayers (Hilton); Richard Evan Coia (Spencerport); and Kassandra Padlick (Wheatland-Chili).
