Motorcycle ride proceeds benefit LAI's Sensory Park
The Blue Knights motorcycle club will host the 2nd Annual Gus Schmidt Memorial Run on August 4. This ride benefits the Lifetime Assistance Sensory Park located in Clarkson off of Horizon Park Drive.
The Blue Knights is a non-profit fraternal organization consisting of active and retired law enforcement men and women who enjoy motorcycles. They are the local chapter of the International Blue Knights which have 14,000 members in 17 countries.
The ride is a "Dice Run," covering approximately 80 miles along the lake. It returns to the Sensory Park where a cookout is provided. Door prizes, raffles and placement prizes are given away. The cost is $10 for rider and $5 for passenger.
Provided free of charge to the community is a child seat safety checkpoint. Anyone can have their child seats checked for proper installment by the NYS Police from 10 to 2 on this day (please bring the child).
Also available are free child ID cards from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A child can be photographed and fingerprinted by the members of the Blue Knights. A card will then be issued on the spot.
