BSA Troop #62
holds Eagle Scout ceremony

Two scouts from Troop #62 in Holley earned Eagle rank and received the award May 19.

Keith G. Stockton is a senior at Holley High School where he is member of the National Honor Society, Master Minds, and has worked on the lighting crew for the school musicals. Keith has been a member of the Varsity soccer, basketball and golf teams. He also participated on the JV tennis team.

Keith's Eagle project was done for Troop 62's sponsor, the First Presbyterian Church of Holley. The project consisted of an overall facelift of the church's kitchen. This included taking down the old wallpaper and resealing the walls. Once this was accomplished, the walls were all re-painted. All the cupboards were cleaned and re-painted inside and outside. The ceiling was also cleaned and re-painted. A wall fan-vent was repaired and returned to working order. The butcher block stand was sanded and re-sealed. A floor cleaner was rented and the floor was super scrubbed and then a wax sealer was put down. Keith was responsible for the overall planning of the project and the labor force he would need to complete each aspect of the project. Fellow scouts, their families and Keith's family helped him to complete the project.

Keith will be attending Finger Lakes Community College this fall. He plans to major in music.

Michael S. McAllister is a senior at Holley High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Master Minds. His favorite sport is tennis. Mike has been active in the Boy Scouts since Tiger scouts.

Mike's Eagle project was done for Troop 62's sponsor, the First Presbyterian Church of Holley. The church needed to make some renovations to the church sanctuary. These included making and putting up two altar railings and removing old carpeting from the sanctuary and preparing the church for installation of the new carpeting. During the project, a broken altar step had to be replaced. The carpeting in the choir loft was also taken up and a good piece of the old carpeting was cut and put down in the loft. Mike also helped with a promotion ad to raise money for the carpet fund drive. As an Eagle candidate, Mike was responsible for the planning and scheduling of the project. He was joined by fellow scouts, their families and church members in the completion of this project.

Mike will be attending the University of Buffalo this fall, with a dual major in Fine Arts and computer science.
