Brockport teams earn scholar athlete awards

The Brockport Boys Varsity Tennis, Girls Varsity Softball, Girls Varsity Spring Track, and Boys Varsity Spring Track have been awarded the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Scholar/Athlete Team Award for the spring 2002 season. The award for academic excellence is given to high school varsity athletic teams who have maintained an average of 90 or above throughout their athletic season. The following Brockport students received NYSPHSAA certificates and a pin:

•Boys Varsity Tennis: Vishal Anuga, Kyle Burghardt, Grant Dimbleby, Steve Essig, Blaine Hastings, Devin Hogan, Tom Linhart, Mike O'Laughlin, Sean Riley, and Paul Stevens.

•Girls Varsity Softball: Erin Breiner, Michele Collichio, Megan Conner, Brittany Doherty, Jamie Hugelmaier, Katie Sue Jones, Kelly Jones, Danielle LeBeau, Erin Murray, Colleen Russell, and Jenna Wright.

•Girls Varsity Spring Track: Christal Arslanian, Courtney Averill, Allyson Barnhart, Sarah Beyler, Gabrielle Boley, Amanda Broadway, Patrice Conway, Laura Crandell, Allison Davis, Katie Dumas, Whitney Dupra, Stacy Krens, Khristina O'Connor, Angela Petronio. Preethi Rao, Kaitlyn Sayers, Jennifer Sime, Mary Stoughton, Renee VanHooft, Kristin Veltz, Irene Vickner, Kathy Wegman, and Amanda Westcott.

•Boys Varsity Spring Track: Vitaliy Basisty, John Brownhill, Josh Dickson, Andrew Kleemhammer, Nick Kulp, Jason Miner, Torre Pinkins, Troy Pinkins, James Sorel, Joe Spade, Adam Streb and Clark Vandenberghe.
