Development Corporation chartered in Brockport
The Greater Brockport Development Corporation has been chartered. The corporation, a 501(3)c non-profit group, was formed as a way for the village to have access to grant money for upgrades and beautification projects. R. Scott Winner, chairman of the Brockport Village Planning Board, was named consultant to the corporation and will act as part-time director. He will receive $25 per hour compensation.

A joint meeting will be held between the village and Town of Sweden officials for the hopeful adoption of the Compre-hensive Master Plan. The meeting is schedueld for June 27 at the Sweden town offices.
Mayor Josephine Matella signed the insurance package for the village that amounted to $113,085 for fiscal year 2002-2003. It is a 24.2 percent increase over the prior year's $91,056 package.
Trustee James Whipple reminded meeting attendees that the annual Canal Trek is scheduled to make their way to Brockport on July 23. "We're expecting at least 47 boats to come through," he said.
Whipple is seeking volunteers to help serve a chicken and biscuit dinner to the boaters. He said there could be 100 people stopping into town that day as part of the annual event.
