Finding their way
Holley physical education teacher Lisa Campbell, and fourth-graders Samantha Lonville and Jessica Bower (shown l to r) take a moment to review their map during an orienteering workshop at Black Creek Park in Chili. A group of students in grades 4-6 and their teachers learned about orienteering, divided into teams and tried simple courses, then after lunch, took on more challenging courses. The teams used maps, compasses and trail markers to reach correct destinations within given time limits. They also used problem-solving skills and applied visual spatial knowledge to follow the prescribed courses. The enrichment workshop is a BOCES 2 Project ADEPT (A Diversified Enrichment Program for the Talented).
