C-C interim superintendent chosen by Board of Education
Dr. Larry Pedersen will serve as Interim Superintendent of Schools for Churchville-Chili schools. His appointment was made June 25 by the C-C Board of Education.
Dr. Pedersen recently retired as the District Superintendent for Rockland County BOCES. Before going to Rockland, he served as Superintendent of Schools for Gananda Central School District in Macedon, leading that district through a rapid phase of growth and development. Dr. Pedersen also served a term as president of the New York State Council of School Superintendents.
Dr. Pedersen holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Syracuse University, a Master of Science in Education from Alfred University and a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Brockport. He resides in Sodus, NY.
Dr. Pedersen will spend time this summer in a transition period with Mary Alice Price, outgoing Churchville-Chili Superintendent of Schools. Ms. Price has accepted the position of Superintendent of Schools for the Pittsford Central School District.
The Churchville-Chili Board of Education has also selected C. Tod Eagle, District Superintendent for Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES, to lead the search for a new Superintendent of Schools. This process will begin immediately and will include staff and community input. A public forum on the search process will be held in late August. The final selection process will take place in the late fall. The anticipated start date for a new superintendent is January 2, 2003.
