Genealogy Sunday at the Library July 14
The third Genealogy Sunday program is scheduled for July 14 at the Ogden Farmers' Library from noon to 4 p.m. The library will be open during that time for people who are doing genealogy and historical research. Members of the Western Monroe County Genealogical Society will be on hand, along with library staff, to assist with research. Larry Naukam of the Rochester Public Library will speak at 2 p.m. about the resources available in the Local History Division of the Rundel Library. Naukam is a nationally known genealogist who has published a number of articles on the topic and has spoken at several conferences. He is especially knowledgeable about using the Internet for genealogical research and will be available to answer questions and suggest search strategies. Registration for this program is not required.
The library has recently added a number of resources, including CDs of census information for Monroe County for the years 1860, 1870, 1900 and 1930. Lists of other print, CD and microfilm resources owned by the library are available at http://www.ogdenny.com/library/genealogy.html.
