Garland UM Church
appoints new pastor
The Garland United Methodist Church and the Rochester District of the United Methodist Church have announced the appointment of a new pastor. Floyd H. Johnson has been assigned as the new pastor for the Garland United Methodist Church in Brockport. Mr. Johnson is a professor of Computer Science at Roberts Wesleyan College. Mr. Johnson has served in a pastoral assignment for five years in South Wisconsin and upstate New York. After that time his ministry was redirected to college campuses as a computer science faculty member. He and his family now live in North Chili where he has been an employee of Roberts Wesleyan for four years. Worship services start at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays with a children's church at 10:45 a.m. downstairs. Pastor Johnson's first service will be July 28. A coffee hour after the church service will offer an opportunity to get acquainted and welcome the new pastor.
