Lakeside Gymkhana rides again

The third annual Lakeside Gymkhana is scheduled for September 7. The timed horseback events will start at 11 a.m. at Manitou Hills Farm in Hilton. Speed classes, including Clover Leaf Barrels and Pole Bending, will be offered in both junior and senior divisions. A 50/50 Barrels Jackpot class will also be offered again this year. Competitors will be eligible to receive door prizes as well as show High Point awards. This is a family-oriented event to watch or in which to compete. There is no fee to come and enjoy the show, but competitors will need $25 to ride in all events, excluding the Jackpot class. Each horse will need to show a current Coggins and rabies certificate. The rain date will be September 14. The first 25 riders to register will receive a free Lakeside Gymkhana t-shirt. Call 395-6049 to register horses. All funds raised will go towards the Lakeside "Building for the Next Generation" Capital Campaign.
