Brockport sets appointments at annual meeting
Brockport held its annual reorganizational meeting July 15. Appointments and adoptions were made for the following year. The adoptions are not official until they are voted on and approved by the trustees at the August meeting.
The following appointments were unanimously carried by all village board members:
Deputy/Vice Mayor for the upcoming year will be Trustee Morton Wexler.
Committee appointments are as follows: Utilities - Lighting/Sewers, Wexler and Trustee Norman Knapp, Advisor DPW Superintendent Bradley Upson; Streets, Knapp and Trustee James Whipple, Advisor Upson; Parks, Knapp and Upson as advisor; Buildings/Property, Trustee Peter DeToy and Whipple, Advisor Upson; Finance is administered by the board of trustees with Treasurer Scott Rightmyer as advisor; Fire and Ambulance, Whipple and Knapp; Personnel - a)Police, Whipple and Mayor Josephine Matela; DPW, Knapp and Matela; Office, Whipple and Matela; Building/Zoning, Knapp and Matela; Traffic, Whipple and DeToy, Police Chief Varrenti will act as advisor; Community Development, Knapp and Matela, advisor will be R. Scott Winner; Economic Development, Matela and Advisor, R. Scott Winner; Village Code Review, DeToy with Building and Zoning Officer Scott Zarnstorff as advisor; Cable Commission, Wexler; Liaison to the Library Board, Wexler; Liaison to the Planning Board, DeToy.
Liaison to the Zoning Board of Appeals, Wexler; Sweden Master Plan Review Committee, Wexler.
Christopher Trento was chosen as external auditor; Jacqueline Morris was named village historian; Mary Lynne Turner was named museum director; Official Repositories for the village are: JP Morgan/Chase, HSBC, Fleet Bank and M&T Bank. Suburban News was named official newspaper.
The following were appointed to the village's various board seats: Board of Water Commissioners, five year term, Whipple; Planning Board, five year term, Winner; Zoning Board of Appeals, five year term, Richard Aldrich; Historic Preservation Board, three year term, David Strabel; Historic Preservation Board, three year term, William Andrews; Seymour Library Board (Brockport rep.), two year term, Sarah Hart.
The following individuals were appointed as part time police officers for a one year term: Kevin McKee, Joseph Morabito, Richard Rozzi, Carlos Torres and Paul Wheat. School crossing guards, appointed for a one year term were: JoAnn K. Weber and Victor Niedowodin.
Daniel Zimmer was named emergency communications office coordinator for a one year term. Part time public safety dispatchers, appointed for one year terms, include: Paul W. Braman, John W. Curtis, Ralf Kurzawski, Christopher Martin, Robert Reed, Michael G. Tsoukatos, Larry Vaughan and James L. Weaver.
Regular meetings for the village board will be the first and third Mondays of the month, unless otherwise noted, at 7:30 p.m.
