Holley Middle School students donate to special causes

The Holley Middle School Student Council held four dances and had a penny war in the fall. The proceeds from these events were donated to: The Open Door Mission in Rochester, the Eastern Orleans County Community Center soup kitchen and food cupboard, The Cancer Society, Special Olympics, Orleans County Mental Health for troubled teens, and Lakeside Hospital to purchase toys for the children's wing. They also purchased all the plaques for the awards assembly. The students voted to purchase music stands for the band room, and will either replace or repair the message board in the cafeteria. They also lent a helping hand to the canal cleanup in the village on May 18.
