Clemente All Stars win state tournament

The 15 year olds Clemente All Star team of Monroe County Babe Ruth defeated the North Syracuse 15 year olds All Stars 8 to 6 in North Syracuse Sunday, July 21 to win the Western New York State Tournament. They will now advance to the Mid-Atlantic Regionals to be held in New Milford, New Jersey starting August 2. The Clemente All Stars' goal is to win the regional tournament and proceed to the Babe Ruth World Series. The World Series will be held in Indiana during late August.

The Clemente All Stars, under the direction of Coach Skip Bailey, have won the Babe Ruth State Championship three years in a row and finished second in the United States in 2000.
