Auditions scheduled for children's choir
Auditions are being held for the choirs of the Amadeus Chorale. The Amadeus Chorale is a well-established singing group of exceptional children and youth. The Chorale is not affiliated with a religion, school or university. Members have sung on Peter Jennings' "World News Tonight" Fourth of July Special, for Secretary of State Colin Powell, in Independence Hall, and are slated to sing in July 2003 at the Old North Church in Boston.
Amadeus takes pride in training well-rounded musicians through the vocal art. The 140-voice organization holds a yearly benefit concert solely for the purpose of helping other children. Last November, the Chorale sent $5,000 to Ladder Company #25 in NYC for the children who lost fathers in the twin towers.
Artistic Director Darla Bair is holding auditions in the Rochester area for any singer currently in second through fifth grades. Weekly rehearsals include theory training as it relates to the song material. The choruses each rehearse once a week from September through May.
