Madeleine Albright to
speak at Lakeside Gala Dinner
The featured speaker at the Lakeside Foundation Annual Gala Dinner will be Madeleine Korbel Albright. Albright has the distinction of serving as the first woman Secretary of State and is the highest-ranking woman in the history of the U.S. Government. As Secretary, Albright reinforced America's alliances, advocated democracy and human rights and promoted American trade and business, labor and environmental standards abroad.
During Albright's tenure as secretary, she was able to accomplish the expansion and modernization of NATO and the successful campaign to reverse ethnic cleansing in Kosovo; the reduction of nuclear danger from Russia; the expansion of democracy in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America; and facilitated American business overseas.
The gala event is scheduled in a new venue this year. It will be held at the Crowne Plaza, December 6, 2002. Seating is already close to being sold out at the time of this publication. Call early for reservations.
