Golf tourney benefits Lifeline
On August 15 at Ricci Meadows Golf Course, the Barre Deli will sponsor their 8th annual Charity Golf Tournament. The Orleans County Lifeline Replacement Program will be the beneficiary this year.
Each year, the Barre Deli searches for a local not-for-profit organization that would benefit from the funds they raise. It is truly a grass roots project. "We ask for the community's support and they give it each year, they never let us down," said Jerry Edwards, owner of the Barre Deli.
The Lifeline is an independent program administered by the Orleans County Office for the Aging. There are no county, state, or federal funds provided for this program. Funds come from monthly fees and donations.
The mission of the Orleans County Office for the Aging is to help keep seniors independent and in their own homes as long as possible. The Lifeline Program is an important part of fulfilling that mission.
