Fireman appreciation and
September 11 Remembrance picnic planned
For many years, Hilton East Assisted Living has hosted an annual Appreciation Dinner in honor of the local Fire Department and emergency volunteer workers. In lieu of last year's September 11 terrorist attack, Hilton East Assisted Living will host this year's event on Sunday, September 8, in remembrance of the one year anniversary where so many firemen, policemen, and volunteers sacrificed their lives.
This year's dinner will be held on the front lawn of Hilton East Assisted Living, where Senator George Maziarz will present a plaque to the Hilton Fire Department and Emergency volunteers. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. Special guests include Betsy Mowry, who served as a volunteer in New York City during the aftermath of the terrorist attack, performers Josie Waverly and Dick Mazzatti's Duo, Senator Maziarz, and other local elected officials.
Hot dogs, chips, and soda will be served from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. followed by the special speaker and plaque presentation.
The community is invited to attend.
