Maze opens at Springdale Farm
Springdale Farm, 696 Colby Street in Spencerport, expects to open its Maize Quest Cornfield Maze Saturday, August 31. This year's theme is "Escape from Treasure Island!" The 10-acre cornfield has been carved in the shape of a galleon and treasure box through 300,000 living cornstalks.
Maize Quest's design challenges families and adventurous adults to escape from 10,000 feet of pathways cut through living cornstalks. Questers explore twisting pathways, while playing games and answering riddles to create their own map on a game sheet as they journey through the maze's twists and turns. The average completion time is 45 minutes.
Regular hours for Maize Quest Cornfield Maze are Fridays and Saturdays through October 31, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After September 20, extended hours for Flashlight Friday and Saturday Nights are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. In October, fall pumpkins will be available for purchase. Admission is $7 for those age 13 and older and $5 for children ages 4-12. Groups of 20 or more are eligible for discounts. Also, discount tickets are available at all area Wegmans.
